About Moving To Portugal

For many years, UK nationals wanting to retire abroad or begin a new life in the sun have chosen Portugal – for its sunnier climes and relaxing quality of life.

Its long cultural heritage is still evident today, fascinating for visitors with even a passing interest in history. And with year round sunshine, golden beaches, breath-taking views, almost 1000 kilometres of beautiful mainland coastline, and golf courses, properties and restaurants that cater for every taste, Portugal offers a lifestyle for business people or retirees that is second to none.

Since the Brexit referendum in 2016, the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK has noticed a growing demand from the British public for more information about Portugal’s Non Habitual Tax regime, which is very attractive to those planning to retire abroad to Portugal or who wish to restructure their businesses and working lives.

UK nationals can currently benefit from these very favourable ‘non-habitual residence’ (NHR) tax rules during their first ten years in Portugal. To learn more about these, and other aspects of Moving to Portugal, come along to our Moving to Portugal seminars, try some Portuguese wines with us, meet our speakers and exhibitors, and learn more!

Visitors can listen to our expert speakers giving short presentations throughout the day. Topics include how and where to buy a home, the legal process, tax planning, mortgages and foreign exchange.
